Biography:
Abitzel (Abbi) Robinson-Hobson leads with over 25 years of experience in strategy, business operations, and financial management focused on sports, film, television, media, marketing, branding, venture capital, and nonprofit/impact businesses. Abbi has been integral and led multi-billion-dollar partnership, content, and digital deals and initiatives with ATP Tour, Rock The Bells with actor/rapper LL Cool J, Showtime Networks, the National Basketball Association, American Express’ Global Advertising and Brand Management; she’s led Finance and Operations at impact businesses Getting Out and Staying Out and the Council for Economic Education. In her early career, Abbi managed the accounting and finance structure for 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks owned by Filmmaker Spike Lee and held accounting and auditing roles at global firms PriceWaterhouseCoopers and EisnerAmper where she provided professional services for fortune 100 companies Viacom, Inter Public Group, and General Electric. Abbi’s experience and knowledge drives her to be intentional when it comes to company growth, infrastructure, operations, and finance functions; she’s managed $2B budgets, led a $15M Series B funding round, and helped increase revenue by 25% via strategic partnerships and negotiations.
Abbi is the founder and CEO of Everly Business Solutions Group, LLC., a consulting and advisory practice working with companies to provide strategy, operations, finance and accounting services; she’s recently partnered with Arabella Advisors / Kiwi Partners as Lead CFO providing Interim and Fractional CFO services to nonprofit/impact businesses.
Abbi earned a certificate of completion from Columbia’s Business School – Senior Leaders Program and an MBA at Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, she completed the Global Business Program studying business operations, management, and marketing in Asia and the Middle East. Prior to that, Abbi completed an accelerated and advanced program at Brooklyn College receiving her Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
She serves on the board as Treasurer of Brooklyn’s Bridge Street Development Corporation and as Vice Chair of the Economic Development Committee of Brooklyn’s Community Board 3.
Abbi’s life journey began in Panama before coming to the U.S. as a young child. She has since been rooted in Brooklyn, New York, where she lives with her husband of 19 years in Bedford Stuyvesant - one of Brooklyn’s historic brownstone communities.
